Image
Below is attached our final commercial project. We are very confident in all of our progress up until now, and my group and I strongly believe that we did a decent job. Especially as it was our first time working together as a group. We learned many things, individually and as a group, and overall, we are very satisfied with what we've done. Enjoy the commercial!

How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My  product challenges, an issue that many encounter, which is poor quality from audio streaming devices. My product does not really challenge conventions, as Beats Headphones are typically filmed in a variety of locations. Ranging from common places such as parks, or fields, or basketball courts, to big cities and well renowned streets.        2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?     My product  engages with audiences, by displaying the perks and features of our product, not just the overall look of the product. Unique features such as a 40 hour battery capacity, class 1 Bluetooth , and a custom comfort with adjustable ear cups. It would be distributed as a real media text through online media platforms such as YouTube.      3. How did you

During our first shoot which was on October 8, we were not able to film with Chelsey. So therefore, I was in charge of filming, so basically I was the cameraman. I also handled props and other equipment. Corey was the actor for the first shoot, which was the 15 seconds of the commercial. Reason that Chelsey was not able to film that day was because she had family emergencies that day to tend to. However, Chelsey and Corey were able to shoot together on Wednesday, October 12. On the 12th they shot the last 15 seconds of the commercial, during the afternoon. I unfortunately was not able to be present for that shoot. Reason being I was very occupied with homework, and I had church on Wednesday night. For the shoot on the 12th Corey assumed the role of director and cameraman. Also he was the one handling most of the props. He brought his Beats Headphones, the phone and tripod all used to film. Chelsey was the actress for the shoot that day. They both also filmed at Holiday Park, but at a

Right before our shoot we had to decide on the type of costumes that would be used during the shoot. We created an outline, basically, where the actor had to wear plain, every day, casual clothing. Also, he and she could not be wearing sandals, any type of clothing with branding, or above the knee shorts. The day of the first shoot, one of our actors Corey, wore a plain pine green hoodie, with plain black shorts, and casual sneakers. The only major prop that was used was the Beats Solo 3 Wireless Headphones. Which is the product being commercialized. For the first 15 seconds of the shoot, we had decided that overall, our main set would be the park. For the last 15 seconds of the commercial our other group member, Chelsey was featured. During her scene, she wore a gray zip-up jacket, black pants, and plain white sneakers. She as well was shown using the Beats Solo 3 Wireless Headphones. Other props that we used for filming was our cellphone and a tripod to hold our phone. As well as ou

On Saturday, October 8, I started filming with my group. One of my group members was not present, so it was me and my other partner. I assumed the role of director and cameraman during our shoot. I brought my phone which I used to record. Corey brought a tripod that I used to film. As well as a Canon camcorder as a backup, just in case we faced difficulties with our phone. Also, Corey brought his Beats Headphones which is what the commercial is centralized on. It was fully charged when shooting, so we did not encounter any battery life problems with it. I read off of the storyboard that Corey drew and directed and filmed the scenes according to what we drew on our storyboard. We filmed at a park, so there were maybe 1-3 in the background at one point, but barely noticeable. The weather that day was overcast, so it is noticeable as well in the background, that the sky was very cloudy. We did not have to re-shoot too many times, there was one scene where we re-shot about 3 times, but th

First Scene -  In the opening shot, Corey is filmed looking at the Beats Headphones, proceeding to put them on. Then he presses the 'b' button on the Headphones, to signify the start of the next scene. He is shown to be sitting at the playground in a park. It then proceeds to show him scrolling thru his phone then tapping his phone, what he is really doing is choosing a song.  Second Scene -  In the next scene it cuts to Corey walking while utilizing the Beats Headphones. Thus optimizing every feature that the Beats Headphones can provide.   Third Scene -  Corey is shown walking on a small pavement road at the park. He is shown having the time of his life with his Beats headphones. Corey's 15 seconds of the commercial are about to concur. Then we see the commercial transition to Chelsey after these 15 seconds.  Fourth Scene -  In  time frame of about 2 seconds, the commercial will transition to Chelsey. A medium shot or medium close up shot will be used in the first scene

Me and my group are doing a commercial on Beats headphones. In these commercials, the viewers typically see celebrities, athletes, or artists partaking in their daily activities. Whether it be sports, making music, or doing a certain activity, they all utilize Beats headphones into their daily life. Furthermore, many of these commercials that feature athletes, show athletes reaching their goal or accomplishing a task with the aid of Beats.  Many Beats commercials demonstrate ethos, features of an array of celebrities, from star athletes to Grammy winning musicians, to social media influencers such as: Lebron James, Kylie Jenner, Michael Phelps, Lil Wayne, and Kim Kardashian. By doing this, it creates and urge for the viewer to use the same products as some of their idols.  Athletes that are featured in the commercials, aside from using the Beats headphones, they all wear athletic apparel. That includes, shorts, loose t-shirts, sports bras, running shoes, etc.  Musicians and artis
