Production Blog: Concerning Uncertainties

Image
As mentioned in the previous blog, it was decided that this Saturday would be the next filming day. However, a few things have popped onto my schedule, now I'm not so sure. For starters, I have an event for my church that will consume most of my day. I have to be there at 8:00 sharp, along with my family. the event is planned to end at one. I tried to get permission from my folks, if I can stay home this event. But they've decided that my attendance there will be mandatory. There is a slight possibility that I could try to film with the group any time after 2 o'clock. But I doubt my parents will want to drive after the event. Normally, I'd take an uber, but I am trying to save lately, but then again things change all the time. This is kind of concerning, because from today, the final project is due in 2 weeks. If I do not film tomorrow, I MUST film this following week. The only day that will work for me and the rest of my group members next week will be Thursday, Frida

Production Blog: Filming Progress

Image
As stated in the previous blog, I was able to get some filming progress done with Corey on Friday, the first day of our spring break. Due to Cailey and Chelsey not being present, I only filmed his part. Which consisted of him driving his car, on the way to pick up Cailey and Chelsey. It was done relatively early in the morning, which is shown as the sun appears to be rising in most of the footage. Even though I am content that a little bit of progress was done. It is my goal to start filming this week, as I am heavily opposed to procrastination. Much discussion was done today with Corey, Chelsey, and Cailey. It seems that all 3 of them, as well as myself, will be available on Saturday to film. A specific time has not been established, but it seems that the filming will be done in the early morning to early afternoon. Right before lunch time, most of the filming for that day should be done. Because I am not trying to be accountable for feeding 3 souls, as that will significantly,

Production Blog: First Bits of Progress

Originally, the plan was to start filming after spring break. However, I found out through Corey that he will be leaving for his Europe trip on Saturday. There is no school on Friday, meaning we could get some filming done that day. There is a scene where just Corey is filmed driving the car to go pick up Chelsey and Cailey. This is the scene I intend on filming Corey this Friday. The plan is, I will slide to his neighborhood early in the morning, while my dad is doing a quick construction job. During that period of time, I will film Corey leaving his house driving his mother's SUV. For about a minute I will film Corey just driving. Then I will film another scene of him driving and listening to some music. Corey is just going to drive around his neighborhood, if necessary, once or twice, onto a commercial street. Cailey and Chelsey will not be available to film that day, so their parts will be filmed after spring break. The scene of Corey driving will be filmed from a variety of a

Production Blog: Props Part 2

Image
Today after more discussion, the next set of props that will be used has been decided. For one of the scenes where I will get "run over", certain physical props will be used to mimic blood. Everyday household items such as ketchup, red paint, and hot sauce will be used to imitate blood. The red paint will be lightly splattered all over my face as well as ketchup. The hot sauce will be used to tone the fake blood to make the color seem more realistic. Sensitive areas such as my eyes will be avoided will squirting hot sauce on me, because it would be unpleasant if it were to end up in my eyes.  Another prop not mentioned that will be used to clean up is Clorox wipes and paper towels. Although it will not be used for filming, it will help me clean-up after that particular scene. So that I may be clean throughout the rest of the filming. Moreover, a fake, yet realistic knife will be used for one of the scenes. More specifically, the scene where I get run over by Corey. Where he

Production Blog: Props and Confirmed Film Date

After deliberating for much time, it has been decided that April 1-2 will be the days that I will film the project. A definite location has not been yet decided, however. The props that we will be using has been decided. Firstly, in terms of costumes, typical young adult attire will be used for every protagonist main character. What that means is hoodies, jeans, or casual shorts. As well as sneakers and ankle socks. Furthermore, a very important prop that will be used is a car. Corey's mother's car will most likely be the vehicle used for filming the driving scenes. 2 tripods will be used during the filming day. The 1st one will be a tripod stand. The second will be a mini tripod that I can hold while filming. Furthermore, a dash-cam will also most likely be utilized during filming. It will be used to capture a few scenes of Corey, Chelsey, and Cailey in the car driving and socializing.  Another vital prop that will be used is a cellphone. In one of the scenes, Corey will be s

Production Blog: First Day of Planning

Throughout the class period I had available, I alongside with Corey started to finalize the  storyboard. It took a while to finish as Corey decided to overachieve and draw 5 storyboards, but I was able to finish describing each scene he drew. I was able to start planning for a potential day for me, Cailey, Corey, and Chelsey to film. So far according to Corey it looks like he will not be able to film during the entire spring break. Which is unfortunate, since during break there will be 10 days of no school. Meaning I have to start filming this weekend, or the weekend after spring break. Which sucks because one day will not be enough to film, and there is not "much" time left. The roles have already been established in terms of actors, editor, cameraman, etc. I will be the actor of the antagonist character, while Chelsey, Cailey, and Corey will act as the protagonist characters. In the scenes, where I am not filmed, I will assume the position of cameraman. As this was the
