Production Blog: Props, Sets, & Costumes

Right before our shoot we had to decide on the type of costumes that would be used during the shoot. We created an outline, basically, where the actor had to wear plain, every day, casual clothing. Also, he and she could not be wearing sandals, any type of clothing with branding, or above the knee shorts. The day of the first shoot, one of our actors Corey, wore a plain pine green hoodie, with plain black shorts, and casual sneakers. The only major prop that was used was the Beats Solo 3 Wireless Headphones. Which is the product being commercialized. For the first 15 seconds of the shoot, we had decided that overall, our main set would be the park. For the last 15 seconds of the commercial our other group member, Chelsey was featured. During her scene, she wore a gray zip-up jacket, black pants, and plain white sneakers. She as well was shown using the Beats Solo 3 Wireless Headphones. Other props that we used for filming was our cellphone and a tripod to hold our phone. As well as our storyboard. The setting of her scene was also at Holiday Park. During the first 15 seconds of our shoot, our setting, which was the park, the forecast that day was overcast. Which meant that we had to slightly adjust our camera lighting. However, during the last 15 seconds of our shoot, the forecast was partly cloudy. There was enough sun in the background so we did not need to adjust our lighting. For our shoot, we did have a Canon camcorder on hand in case something went wrong with our cellphone. But it was not needed at any point.
