Title Research: Get Out

The opening sequence for the film Get Out, was found on artofthetitle.com In the film Get Out, there were a solid amount of title sequences shown. The titles ranged from the name of the studio, name of the production company, the film title, casting by, music by, costume designer, movie editor, production designer, the director of photography, who produced is, wrote it, and the director of the movie. The first image prioritize in the opening sequence, is the street view of a neighborhood street. Then a forest, photographs of one of the main characters, the apartment of the main character and him shaving. Furthermore, his spouse giving him food, and the main character browsing through the photos on his camera. The connotations that these images presented give off anticipation and is forecasting future events in the movie. The movie establishes a feeling of thriller through the outset by showing someone being kidnapped at night creating a spooky sensation, and feelings of anxiety. The scene where the forest is shown creates a sense of thriller, by showing a limited view of the forest, a perfect opportunity for jump scares. After examining the opening sequence of the film, I did not note any other strategies that were used to make the film appeal to its audience. Technology was effectively utilized throughout the opening sequence firstly through an establishing shot, a pan shot, a tilt, jump-cuts, and tracking shots.
