Movie Conventions Research: Halloween

Particular elements pertaining to thriller that I chose to base my final task on is close-ups, pan shots, medium shots, tilts, and wide shots. Moreover, establishing shots, canted shots and tracking shots. Regarding, Mis-En-Scene, this movie used costumes that common people wear, lighting for most of the movie was sudden in most scenes, and setting, which took place in a typical American town. The movie included jump-cuts, cross, cutting, dialogue, diegetic and non-diegetic sound, voice overs, and sound bridges throughout the film.

The parts of thriller that I enjoyed seeing in this movie were the sound motifs used when Michael Myers appeared suddenly out of the corner of the screen. As well as the ambient sound that would play in the background.

Certain aspects of this movie that I did not enjoy, however, is that they tried to jam to many events and scenes to the point that it was overwhelming for that specific running time. Or the fact that children were in peril, was somewhat unenjoyable.
