Intro Blog: First Blog of 2023!
Hello there, I am David Vidal. Today it's been about 4 and a half months since I posted my first blog. These last few months I've gained knowledge on angles, shots, editing, and camera movements that I had not anticipated at the beginning of this course. Above that, I've gained knowledge on how struggles in films and tv shows such as gender differences. How they tie to all the shots, angles and camera movements and how to interpret that. I also expanded very much on my creative side, considering that I am not a creative person by nature. As it is required when filming or brainstorming ideas for filming media. Throughout the last 2 media projects I've assumed the role of cameraman, and it has been a tremendous experience. Part of being a cameraman it comes with that slight pressure that I must execute the scene I'm filming without error, which is something I've enjoyed. Furthermore, as cameraman I've learned to put myself in the audience's shoes. For example, when I'm filming, what shots or angle could I optimize to make the viewing experience more entertaining. So far in this class I've done two media projects. First one was a product commercial which turned out alright. Then I did a music video, which I redeemed myself significantly on that one. I was recently assigned a Final Task from what I understand it's a 2-minute clip of a film. I must say I'm very excited for this final task. Partially because it will be the longest project in this class to date, meaning more challenges to face. I have already started coming up with ideas of scenes that could be used in the final task. Such as maybe an intensive action scene of some sort.
