Comedy is a unique genre that incorporates high and low angles, as well as close-ups to focalize on the main character. As well as any relationships they might have with others. Many times in comedy, the actors will play characters that my look silly, or end up in silly situations. Their costumes or looks may be exaggerated for comedic purposes. Foolish or idiotic sound effects may be added, during fast-paced transitioning scenes. As most comedy films, it does not stick to the same scene, or same scenario for more than a few minutes.
Suspense is a particular genre that induces feelings of excitement or nervousness in the audience. It causes the audience to anticipate a nerve-racking scene or occurrence in the film. This genre utilizes pan angles long and wide shots, and most of the scenes are slow-paced, done so to generate feelings of suspense and fear. In suspense, the actor may play a regular character, with a normal appearance, but the behavior of the character in some instances, might reveal clues or suspicion towards the audience. Sound in suspense is a mixture of rapid music and sharp noises to make the audience watching wonder to themselves, "What will happen next?
Thriller is an interesting genre that includes variety of shots ranging from close-ups, long-shots, and panning shots. Most that take place from a low angles. Editing in thriller films include jump cuts, slow-paced editing, and eye-line. These different editing used, convey the character's emotions and creates tension. The most common type of sound utilized are diegetic sounds, for example, a character is running, and certain underfoot noises like leaves and twigs crunching occur.
After considering each of these genres, and examining the pros and the cons. We decided to go with thriller, as it is more exciting, and the audience will have more to expect.
